A life cycle is the way a living thing grows and changes. A flowering plant starts as a seed, grows into a small plant, becomes a grown-up plant with flowers, and then makes new seeds. Then the cycle can start again.

1. Seed

A flowering plant begins as a seed. A seed is small, but it has what a new plant needs to get started. Seeds can be different sizes, shapes, and colors.

Seeds need the right things to begin growing. They need:

2. Seedling

When the seed starts to grow, it becomes a seedling. A seedling is a very young plant. First, a tiny root grows down into the soil. Then a little stem and small leaves grow up.

3. Adult Flowering Plant

4. Pollination

Flowers need help to make seeds. This step is called pollination. Pollination happens when pollen moves from one flower to another flower.

5. Fruit and Seeds

How Is a Flowering Plant Different From an Animal?

A flowering plant does not hatch from an egg or get born like many animals do. Instead, it starts from a seed. It grows roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and then makes more seeds.

Fifth: Adult Frog

At last, the tail goes away. The froglet becomes an adult frog.

An adult frog has:

Adult frogs can live on land and in water. Many adult frogs lay eggs, and the life cycle begins again.

What Changes During Metamorphosis?

During metamorphosis, the frog changes in many ways.
