Research Question Formulation
Research Question Formulation means making a good question to help us learn about a topic.
When we research, we do not ask just any question. We ask a question that helps us find facts.
A topic is what we want to learn about. A research question is the question we ask about that topic.
For example, if the topic is dogs, we can ask, What do dogs eat? That question helps us know what facts to look for.
Good research questions are clear, about one topic, and can be answered with facts.

1. Pick a topic.
Your topic should be something you want to learn about.

2. Think about what you want to know.
Ask yourself: What am I curious about?
- Where does it live?
- What does it eat?

3. Turn your idea into a question.
You can start with question words like these:

These words help us ask for facts.
What makes a question strong?
- It is about one topic.

Better question: Where do bears live?
This is better because it asks about one part of the topic.

How to check your question
Ask yourself these three things:
- Is my question about my topic?
- Is my question clear?
- Can I find facts to answer it?
If you can say yes to all three, your question is strong.
